What should I consider when purchasing carpet?
Generally, the heavier the carpet, the better it will hold up. However, don’t select a product based on weight alone. Consider the carpet’s density, pile height, and fiber type when comparing different varieties. As well, think of the room you are carpeting and what it is used for. With the vast array of carpet choices available, your best option is to come in and speak with a carpet professional at The Rug Store. We will help you choose the best options for you based on your needs, taste and budget.
Can I spend less on carpet and more for a better cushion or padding to save money?
While a good cushion or padding is essential to providing optimum carpet performance, you need to remember that you walk on the carpet, not on the cushion. If you spend less for an inferior carpet, you will probably have a cushion that feels great, but a carpet that does not los as good or wear as well.
What size area rug do I need for my room?
The size of your area rug should complement the size of the room, and will be influenced by how the rug will be used. 5’ x 8’ area rugs look great beneath most coffee tables, and 8’ x 10’ area rugs generally work well in dining rooms. To determine the ideal rug size for dining rooms with oversized tables, measure the table and add four feet to the length and width. If you want your area rug to cover an entire room, allow for 12 – 18 inches of exposed floor to frame the room. Still not sure? Is vinyl still a good choice for flooring?
Vinyl is still a great choice in some rooms and has a lot of advantages over more expensive flooring materials such as stone or ceramic tile. Long regarded as a relatively inexpensive option, vinyl flooring has evolved over the decades to provide attractive design options, colors, patterns, and improved finishes and is quite well suited to flooring at least some rooms in any home! The better quality vinyl flooring provides a thicker finish, less maintenance and a wider range of design patterns and styles.

At the Rug Store, we accept cash, Visa, MasterCard and Discover. We also accept payment through the Intuit Payment Network. Financing through GE Capital is also available.
